Internet Browser Comparison

According to Top Ten Reviews, the current top three internet browsers are Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, in order of ranking. I was surprised to see that Safari ranked number five, since it’s the browser that is preinstalled on Mac computers (and of course I assume Apple uses only the best software).
I was also interested to see that Firefox was ranked number one, but had a much faster initial startup time (14s.) than the 2nd and 3rd ranked browsers (8.1 and 8.5s.). There weren’t many significant differences between the top ranked browsers, except that Internet Explorer was the only browser with dedicated customer support. It was also interesting to see that Firefox, ranked number 1, didn’t have a synchronization feature, which think would be a much sought-after feature these days.
Finally, I was completely surprised to see so many Browser options to choose from. Of course, the most popular are Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, and increasingly these days, Google Chrome. However, I had never even heard of Opera, which ranked higher than Safari. This is of course not to mention Maxthon, Flock, Avant Browser, Deepnet Explorer and PhaseOut, which ranked 6-10 on Top Ten Reviews. Clearly, there’s a lot more out there than meets the eye.
